We are so excited to say that the incredible Sophie Mergaliyev will guest teaching at REC on the Easter Course 2019! We cannot wait to have her join us!

Sophie trained at Elmhurst Ballet School and graduated in 2011. Since graduation she has danced with various companies worldwide including Croatian National Ballet, Royal Swedish Ballet and Grand Rapids Ballet company in America. She has performed many soloist roles within her repertoire including classics such as Swan Lake, Nutcracker and also various neo-classical and contemporary works. She is now based back in London and is a creative director and artist with International Arts Collective.

 

And with that exciting news, here is all the information you need for our up-and-coming 2019 courses. More guest teachers, more fun and more dancing! Come and join us!

So happy to announce that the FANTASTIC Greame Pickering will be joining REC on the 4th January for 2 Technical Jazz Workshops, Juniors and Seniors. 😁🕺❤ Can’t wait!

As we put our heads together to plan the contents of our next Pre-Vocational Summer Intensive for 2018 we just wanted to say a huge congratulations to all who attended in 2017. Your focus, dedication and hard work surpassed our expectations and it was a delight to see you round off your week with a Mock Audition and Drama Presentation in front of our guests. Good Luck with wherever and whatever you do with your new skills, knowledge and confidence. We are right behind you!

The 2nd of our amazing guests holding our mock auditions this Friday at RECBallet Pre Vocational Intensive Course 2017 is Tom Gribby!!!…

Tom has taught at training establishments all over the world, including Redro

ofs Theatre School, Millennium (London), Pineapple Dance Studios, Infinity Dance Studios (Hong Kong) and Guildford School of Acting (London).

Tom is currently Head Agent of Northbridge Talent Agency, providing artists for Theatre, TV and Film, with several clients in West End shows and International Tours, such as Mary Poppins, Cabaret, Matilda and Billy Elliot.

We are so pleased to announce that we have secured two amazing guests to take our mock audition on Friday for our wonderful Pre Vocational Audition Course Students 2017! This will provide the kids with fantastic, personal and relevant feedback from not only the staff at REC BALLET but also these two amazing guests!!!

So our first guest is Tania Matos…

Tania was first introduced to the world of professional classical ballet at the age of 13, when she was chosen to perform in the New York City Ballet production of Mozartiana at Covent Garden Opera House, London. Having completed 9 years of intensive ballet studies in two of England’s most prestigious schools, she has enjoyed a continuous active performing career from 1989 to 2008. She has a wealth of experience ranging from the severe disciplines of corps de ballet, to soloist, then principal dancer.
Tania has danced with various companies throughout the world including Northern Ballet Theatre, Portuguese National Ballet, Ballet du Grand Theatre de Geneve, Ballet Contemporaneo de Caracas, and Bat d’Or, as well as being invited to perform many of the well-known pas de deux as guest artiste.
She has been assistant choreographer and rehearsal director for Piers Gielgud in the Oliver Stone feature Film Alexander. Tania has taught both children and adults extensively for many workshops and schools including the West London School of Ballet, and Escuela Nacional de Caracas.
She has worked with Ballet Theatre UK as Ballet Mistress/Rehearsal Director and taught and coached at The BTUK School.

 

Tania is currently enjoying teaching at both LCPA and Elmhurst as well as developing her own projects , and she is also busy guest teaching for The Mathew Bourne Company.

Dance Workshop Week 2017

Thank you to everyone who attended REC SUMMER SCHOOL 2017 – you all worked so hard and we were delighted by the improvement that we saw in each and everyone of you.

Congratulations to Jessica Wilkes and Eliza Geraghty from Group B who earned themselves a commendation for their hard work during this week and to Lily Bennet for her well deserved scholarship for another REC course in the future, given for effort and enthusiasm. Lydia Smith and Millie-Angel Mottram worked so well that they earned themselves the commendation for Group A this week and Madeleine Knight was given the scholarship for further training with RECBallet. Well deserved, well done girls!

Please keep the momentum going – stay focused and stay positive and most importantly stay over the ball of the supporting foot!!!! Happy holidays to all of you and we will see you all very soon xxxx
